Our #2237 Wood Mandrel is made from straight grain poplar and provides good support for all trumpets and cornets. While technically a hardwood, poplar is not as dense as other types of hardwood and so provides a little less rigid surface against the bell pipe.
Whether doing pc work or overhauls the tapered surface holds bell pipe snug.
Can be used with any style vise ... machined flats for securing in standard bench vise with flat jaws or use pipe style vise with 'V' jaws. Overall length: 23" (58cm).
